Northwest Health Announces Walk-In Mammogram Screenings in La Porte and Starke Counties During the Week of April 21 – 26

Northwest Health is committed to removing the barriers many women face in receiving timely breast cancer screenings by offering walk-in mammogram screenings in La Porte and Starke Counties during the week of April 21.
From April 21 - 28, women aged 40 and older can skip the usual appointment scheduling and doctor’s orders. Instead, they can walk in directly to receive their annual screening mammogram at the following locations:
- Northwest Health – La Porte, 1331 State Street, La Porte, IN
Monday thru Thursday: Noon – 4 p.m.
Friday: Noon -3:15 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. – Noon (must call ahead on Saturday, 219-344-6480)
- Northwest Health – Michigan City, 3777 N. Frontage Road, Michigan City, IN
Tuesday and Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (must call ahead, 219-344-6480)
- Northwest Health – Starke, 102 E. Culver Road, Knox, IN
Tuesday thru Friday, 1 – 3:30 p.m. (must call ahead, 574-772-1139)
Breast cancer impacts one in eight women, and early detection is critical for better outcomes. Northwest Health is making it easier for women to prioritize their health by offering this walk-in service for mammograms.
Mammograms are an essential preventive care service, and for most women, these screenings may be covered by insurance at no cost. Northwest Health accepts most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid.
In Porter County, Northwest Health offers walk-in mammogram screenings weekly, Monday-Friday, 8:30 – 3 p.m. at Northwest Health Portage, 3630 Willowcreek Road, Portage, IN.
