Heart Care
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. — accounting for 1 in every 4 deaths — but it's both preventable and controllable. At Northwest Health - Porter's Center for Cardiovascular Medicine, our services are focused on preventing and treating heart disease. The multidisciplinary care team includes specialists in cardiology, imaging, nutrition, rehabilitation and more.
At Northwest Health - Porter, we provide:
- Emergency heart care. If you’re experiencing heart attack symptoms, you need immediate care. As an accredited Chest Pain Center, healthcare professionals are specially trained in rapid response, assessment and treatment of heart attacks and other life-threatening cardiac emergencies. If a heart attack strikes, you can depend on our quality care.
- Early diagnosis. Advanced medical technology and procedures allow cardiac professionals to detect and diagnose heart disease from the earliest stages, when it can be treated most effectively.
- Recovery assistance. After a heart attack or other acute cardiac illness, we provide specially-designed exercise programs and individual support from exercise and rehabilitation professionals to aid in your recovery. Dietitians will help you adopt a heart-healthy diet and help you make healthy habits part of your lifestyle.
- Heart disease preventive services. We’re dedicated to helping you prevent heart disease through health screenings and education, including classes or other educational events, individual nutritional counseling and more.
With 13 private cardiac rooms, five cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology rooms, and future cardiac catheterization rooms, the Center was designed to provide evaluation, consultation and medical and surgical management of diseases of the heart and circulatory system for the region’s growing population.
