Mom and Baby doing well with expertise of Hospital's ER, OB and NICU Teams

In an instant, everything changed for Felisha Starnes. Her baby boy Bennett made his grand entrance into the world eight weeks early, turning an ordinary day into a race against time that included a little luck and a lot of experienced medical care. While at home, Felisha began experiencing lower abdominal pain that quickly moved into her back. The pain became more frequent and in rapid succession. Her partner, Wyatt, rushed home from work, and within a few minutes, they were on the road to Northwest Health - Porter.

Thanks to the NICU team at Northwest Health – Porter, Gabriel is celebrating his first birthday.
Jackie Martinez was having a normal pregnancy until her water broke at 26 weeks. “I went to the Northwest Health – Porter ER, where I was admitted and placed on complete bed rest in hopes of delaying delivery,” said Jackie. A little more than two weeks later, Jackie’s son, Gabriel, was born prematurely at 28 weeks and 3 days.

Thanks to the NICU team at Northwest Health, Riley and Hailey – born 18 weeks early – are thriving today.
Megan’s daughters were born at 22 weeks. Riley Marie was born at 10:40 a.m. and weighed 1 pound and 5 ounces. Hailey Rose came 40 minutes later and weighed 1 pound and 9 ounces. Both were immediately rushed to the Northwest Health - Porter Level 3 NICU.
