Orthopedic Rehabilitation
Whether you've suffered an injury at work or on the field, are recovering from surgery or just want to better manage your bone or joint pain, Northwest Health - Porter can help.
The orthopedic rehabilitation program features physical and occupational therapists who provide care on an inpatient and outpatient basis. Working closely with you and your primary physician, we'll design a tailor-made plan to treat your pain and restore movement, balance and strength. And we place special focus on education, arming you with strategies to help keep pain in check and prevent re-injury.
Rehabilitation specialties at Northwest Health - Porter include:
- Physical therapy: We provide exercise and strength and conditioning therapies for severe arthritis, multiple orthopedic traumas and other bone and joint injuries. The team also includes specialized spine therapists trained to help relieve neck and back pain.
- Occupational therapy: Licensed therapists help you regain the ability to perform daily tasks and improve quality of life following an illness or injury. We simulate work stations, as well as home living situations for activities such as bathing, grooming and meal planning.
- Post-operative therapy: If you're hospitalized following surgery like joint replacement, you'll be seen by a physical therapist in your own private room at the Center for Orthopedic Medicine. Though everyone's different, we'll work to get you up and moving the same day as surgery. As you recover, you'll join fellow patients each day for group therapy, where you can root each other on as you work to get back to feeling like you again.
