Porter Health Care System CareEXPRESS urgent care sites reopen

Porter Health Care System announced today that all four of its CareEXPRESS urgent care centers are open again. The urgent care locations in Hobart, Portage and Valparaiso were temporarily closed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Chesterton site remained open.

The hours of the sites, effective Monday June 8, are:

Valparaiso CareEXPRESS urgent care, 809 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso will be open Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Weekends 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Portage CareEXPRESS urgent care, 3630 WIllowcreek Ave, Portage, inside the Portage Hospital, will be open Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Weekends 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Hobart CareEXPRESS urgent care, 7890 East Ridge Road in Hobart opened on last week. Hours are Monday – Friday, 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Weekends 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The adjacent primary care office is open 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and accepts walk-ins.

The Chesterton CareEXPRESS location at 650 Dickinson Rd, Chesterton continues to be open 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. seven days a week.

Numerous precautions for infection prevention, access control, social distancing and patient flow are in place to maintain a safe environment of care. Everyone who enters the building, including staff, is screened, and all employees, physicians and patients are expected to wear masks. Furniture in waiting areas has been spaced to maintain appropriate social distancing. Cleaning and disinfection of frequently touched surfaces and caregiving spaces has been intensified.
