Porter’s Pink at Portage offers convenient Saturday hours for mammograms
11/1/2017
Portage, Ind. – Porter Health Care System presents Pink at Portage, a special monthly event for women needing their annual mammogram, from 7 a.m. to noon, Nov. 21, in the Women’s Center at Portage Hospital, 3630 Willowcreek Road, Portage.
Women can get their annual mammograms and receive a complimentary brunch.
Mammograms are an essential tool to the early detection of breast cancer. Early detection is important, as the chances of the successful treatment of breast cancer are greater in the beginning stages, with an increased range of treatment options, less extensive surgery and better outcomes. The American Cancer Society recommends that women age 40 or older, or those considered at risk, receive a mammogram each year.
To participate in Pink at Portage, a woman must be age 40 or older and know the date of her last mammogram, and have a physician’s order. Insurance will be charged and only covers one mammogram annually. The Women’s Center at Portage Hospital offers 3D mammography. For more information or to pre-register, call (219) 983-8399.
